A Burn Ban issued for Liberty Hill and Williamson County was ordered by County Judge Dan Gattis on August 24 and remains in effect until further notice. The burn ban prohibits the burning of household yard waste, such as leaves, grass, brush and other yard trimmings. It also prohibits burning to clear land of trees, stumps, shrubbery, or other natural vegetation. This order may be enforced by any duly-commissioned peace officer.
Liberty Hill Water Supply Corp. restricts outdoor watering to one day per week. No watering by any method is permitted between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Customers must follow the watering schedule below as determined by the last digit of their account numbers:
Monday -- Accounts ending in 0 (zero) or 1
Tuesday -- Accounts ending in 2 or 3
Wednesday -- Accounts ending in 4 or 5
Friday -- Accounts ending in 6 or 7
Saturday -- Accounts ending in 8 or 9
No watering is permitted on Sunday or Thursday.
Stage 2 Drought Restrictions are in effect for customers of the Chisholm Trail Special Utility District. Daily water demand has exceeded 85 percent of its pumping capacity. As a result, customers are required to follow mandatory outdoor watering times, with outdoor use restricted to twice per week. Even number addresses may water from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. or 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday and Saturday. Odd number addresses may water from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. or 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday and Sunday. Charity carwashes are prohibited during this time. Failure to comply with watering restrictions may result in fines and/or loss of water service.
